Red Poha (Flattened Red Rice), is coarse in texture and contains more fibre than white poha. The red colour is obtained due to the presence of a pigment called anthocyanin in red rice. Like white poha, it is very easy to cook and great for your gut. It is high in carbohydrates which makes it a popular breakfast dish across India. It does not have a strong flavour of its own, hence carries seasonings and spices well.
